Chinese New Year celebration at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden

Headless! The lens fogged up immediately upon the transition from freezing winter to sticky, humid greenhouse.

Mask Change, on left. It was really cool; I had never heard of the performance until I saw it last year. Turns out, it's a traditional and highly-guarded art form that began in Sichuan opera 300 years ago. The performer changed masks several times, blue, green, red, black, faster than I could blink; each mask had a different expression. I am still baffled as to what he did with the masks he took off. Nope, I don't know a single person in this photo, but I like it. I think it's the near identical shade of suede-browns all across the photo that makes it work.
