Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies
This was a complete random find - I was biking around Red Hook and had paused by the side of the road to look at my map. I look up to see a sign dangling in the wind and almost shrugged it off as a remnant of the past - until I saw a newer lime green 'key lime pies' sign further down the road. I followed the signs... and lo and behold:

Shrimp chips to start off dinner at a favorite haunt of mine, Boyd Thai.
A lovely meal - a luxury, in every sort of way - live music, glass of wine, yummmy soft-shelled crabs, and a spot to people-watch from at the end of the bar.

Corned beef hash with poached eggs, Wilfie & Nell
I have always wanted to eat here and finally stumbled across it on Saturday while meandering through West Village. It was the perfect lil' treat for myself. I can't wait to go back :)

Cucumbers: with vinaigrette above, with feta and a bit of chili powder (for experiment) below.
I don't usually buy cucumbers - it's crunchy and it's got that field-y flavor that makes me feel like a cow munching on grass. Last week, however, it was on sale and super-fresh, so I decided to give them another try and see if I could make friends with it.

And I did. :)

Moldy grape. :(
I was on autopilot and chomping on these while at work. It wasn't until I had reached the bottom of the bag that I found this one. I hope I didn't eat any moldy ones...

Surprise birthday dinner for J @PT
I rarely use the non-adjustable flash on my camera because I hate the direct glare it gives to my photos. However! My good friend was shooting our friends at the table and snapped one just when I was shooting my food. Her flash did wonders and now I have an accidental shot I'm very happy with!

Fooding @Zerza
Don't know whether it had to do with the dishes we ordered, but my friend's chicken bastilla and my couscous chicken berber were both extremely sweet. Not very dinner-like, almost ruined my appetite for dessert. Otherwise, fun night!
