One more, one more! We cried. And one more, he sang.

Collin Huggins + drummers + tap dancers
Second time catching The Crazy Piano Guy. The first time was when I randomly decided hop off at Union Square to make a premature transfer. I couldn't believe my luck at catching such a treat; he played everything from well-known classical pieces to ballads to piano versions of pop songs. He made my night. I think I stuck around for almost an hour that night.

The group tonight had amazing energy - these are the people that make New York New York. I wish I had taken a photo of the crowd that had gathered.

I don't remember who the performing group is anymore, but it was an amazing night. I found a bit of my old self that night.

Jaymay at Rockwood Music Hall
I was hooked on Jaymay's Gray or Blue a while back and was super excited to find that she was performing in New York in a few weeks. She had the most lovely voice, but she said this one line about music that really killed (in a bad way) the show for me. I'm not going to say what it is here, because I don't want to ruin it for you and because the audio on her MySpace doesn't do her voice justice and I want you to hear her in person if given the chance.

Rockwood Music Hall was tiny but cozy and very intimate. I liked it a lot, especially their no-cover, just one-drink-an-hour policy. I don't know how Jaymay and her band did it, but at one point, all five of them, a piano, plus a cello performed on the stage! I'm looking forward to going back.
